Modeling Accomplishments and Resume

Dub Jett started modeling in 1953, under the tutelage of the three Grogan Brothers, for those who remember. He won his first national trophy in 1959 -1st in the new class A .15 size at 103mph, setting a new record, using a $6.95 Fox .15. He built his first model engine at the age of 14 for class A Speed and won the Nats with it in 1961. As a young man he won the overall Senior National Championship three years running from 1964 to 1966. Dub went on to produced the DJS brand of racing engines during the mid-seventies, with the help of his long-time friend and partner, John Shannon. |

Dub started flying RC in 1979 and became successful in the sport of R/C pylon racing almost immediately. As his skills sharpened, he became one of the best pylon pilots in the country. Dub won the NMPRA National points Championship three times He has also won the AMA Nationals in F-1, QM, and FAI two times each. In 1987, Dub qualified for the U.S. FAI Pylon Team, and became a part of history. He was a member of the U.S. FAI team again in 1989 and once again in 1991. |

The 1991 World Pylon Championships was where all of Dub's hard work paid off. The United States team won for a third straight time, once again finishing first second and third. Dub Jett holds a Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering, and a Bachelors Degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Texas and Texas A&M respectively. He practiced Engineering for 23 years in the Oil Patch before starting Jett Engineering. Dub is the holder of Ten U.S. Patents. |
