Caution: Incorrect installation of the counter balanced spinner backplate will cause increased engine vibration. Please read these carefully.
- Push the engine to bottom dead center and hold it in place using the hold down tool, or with a soft rod.
- The backplate has two holes in the face. Hold the backplate toward you, looking at the knurled side. Note that the holes are at 12:00 and 4:00. Align the 12:00 hole with the head of the engine (top dead center) while still holding the engine at bottom dead center.
- Use the other hole to align your propeller. This will take a bit of practice, but it works.
- The other hole, should you decide to use it, is the same as the Nelson notch.
- Grow another hand.
